the dark expanse above the roof,

mapping out the dreams we carry,

the silent, shimmering proof

the city hums a frantic, broken song,

but here, in the stillness of our shadows,

is where the quiet hearts belong

a mountain path that winds through mist and stone,

but the summit isn't reached by strength alone,

or by walking the trail on your own.

the steady hand that doesn't fear the climb,

finding peace within the park-side clamor,

one heartbeat at a single time

Bio: Moni M. Sonnie Jr was born in Monrovia, Liberia. He is a student of Stella Maris Polytechnic University, majoring in Mathematics and Integrated Science; he’s an emerging web developer and writer, and also holds a certificate in graphic design and diplomacy. Also a Research assistant at Stella Maris Polytechnic University.
